In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our external suppliers deliver materials and services that meet the highest quality standards. You'll play a critical role in supplier audits, performance monitoring, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Contract Duration: 12 Month Contract (Likely to Extend)

Hourly Rate: £40.00 - £41.03 per hour inside IR35

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Stafford on a 12-month contract. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our external suppliers deliver materials and services that meet the highest quality standards. You'll play a critical role in supplier audits, performance monitoring, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Audits & Assessments: Conduct quality system, process, and product audits to ensure supplier compliance with requirements.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate supplier performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Issue Resolution: Work closely with suppliers to implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with suppliers.
  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve supplier processes in line with company quality standards and design intent.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and the broader supply chain.
  • Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on supplier quality and performance data.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all suppliers adhere to relevant industry regulations and customer-specific requirements.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, supplier management, and process improvement within a manufacturing environment - ideally within the engine manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Sound process knowledge in casting, machining, tubes & hoses, electrical, and electronic components.
