We are seeking a Principal Consultant with strong PMO and Project Controls expertise to help clients shape and deliver complex business transformation.
You will design and improve the operating models, governance, capabilities and delivery controls that connect strategy with measurable outcomes. This is a hands-on consulting role for someone who can work independently, bring structure to ambiguity and guide senior stakeholders through challenging decisions.
The role
Lead PMO and Project Controls assignments, assessing existing capability, identifying gaps and implementing practical improvements.
Design and embed strategic PMO / 3PO functions that enable transformation, support decisions and drive business performance.
Establish effective governance and delivery controls, covering planning, scheduling, costs, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting and assurance.
Shape transformation operating models, aligning organisational structures, people, capabilities, processes, data and technology.
Connect strategy with delivery, defining priorities, accountabilities, KPIs and benefits measures.
Independently lead client workshops, challenge assumptions, explore trade-offs, facilitate decisions and build consensus.
Apply AI and digital technologies to improve transformation delivery and PMO effectiveness, with appropriate data, security and governance controls.
Drive implementation and adoption, maintaining momentum and embedding sustainable ways of working.
What you will bring
A strong PMO and/or Project Controls background, including experience establishing, designing or improving these functions.
Proven experience leading complex business transformation and organisational change.
An understanding of how a strategic PMO / 3PO should operate within a business and actively enable transformation.
Strong knowledge of operating models, organisational capability, processes, data, technology and performance/KPIs.
Consulting or advisory experience, with the credibility to independently lead client assignments and engage senior stakeholders.
Excellent workshop facilitation and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and secure agreement across diverse stakeholders.
Practical experience using AI and digital technologies to enable transformation.
A self-starting delivery mindset: able to turn an ambiguous agenda into a structured approach, identify dependencies, adapt and drive tangible outcomes.
The opportunity
Take ownership of challenging client assignments and shape how organisations deliver transformation. You will combine strategic advice with practical implementation, building PMO and Project Controls capabilities that make a measurable difference to business performance.
Existing SC clearance preferred. Applicants must otherwise be eligible and willing to obtain SC clearance.
