£30-35k plus £2k shift allowance and bens 

Our client a leading IT Service Provider are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their permanent team


You will be responsible for reacting to monitoring alerts, triage and troubleshooting of managed and trusted environments and managing and hosting customers Networking Infrastructure, VPNS and Firewalls.



  • Provide technical assistance to the Customer in the resolution of technical issues
  • Act as the 1st point of escalation for service desk issues & log/progress service desk tickets during OOH shift
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and make outbound calls where necessary to keep the customer or 3rd party updated
  • Log, progress and resolve tickets via our ITSM tool & escalate to 2nd/3rd line where necessary
  • Monitor all calls keeping the customer informed  through to resolution
  • Identify alerts using monitoring tools & log, triage, resolve, escalate as required
  • Perform a series of daily and nightly checks to ensure incidents are identified proactively.
  • Verify call details back to the customer ensuring that all relevant information is entered into the call logging system in a clear and concise format
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving faults


  • Experience on a 1st Line Service Desk supporting multiple customers
  • Knowledge of:
    • MS Office Admin & MS Server Admin
    • Basic IP / Routing / VPN Connectivity
    • Basic Cisco / Checkpoint
    • Office Suite (Outlook specifically)
    • Troubleshooting Windows OS, 7 and 10
    • Office 365 Administration and Network troubleshooting
    • Active Directory and Exchange Administration
    • Citrix and Troubleshooting Mobile devices

This is a 24/7 shift rota – 4 days on and 4 days off. (12 hour shifts x2 7am-7pm & x2 7pm – 7am)
