Investigate material failures and defects, supporting design and manufacturing teams to ensure readiness for production.
Plan, carry out, and refine testing methods for metals to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Support the adoption of new technologies and processes such as automation and robotics.
Clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering, or strong equivalent lab experience.
3-5 years' experience in a materials laboratory, ideally with steels and metals.
Strong knowledge of metallic behaviour, corrosion, and metallurgical defects.
Proven ability to analyse root causes and recommend process improvements.
Excellent communicator with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Self-motivated team player with high attention to detail.
Desirable skills: corrosion testing, heat treatment, fluids interaction with metals, non-metals testing, or experience in an ISO17025 accredited lab.
