Associate Procurement Professional - Desford (Onsite, Full Time)
Pay: Up to £29.56 p/h
Contract: 12 months (strong likelihood of extension)
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00 (flexibility on start/finish times)
Working pattern: Fully onsite (5 days)
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Associate Procurement Professional to join our Procurement team in Desford. This position is ideal for a confident Assistant Buyer with strong purchasing expertise who enjoys driving projects, solving supplier issues, and using data to inform decisions.
You'll be stepping into a key role supporting our ongoing procurement activities, taking forward responsibilities from a team member transitioning to a new project. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative team environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing day-to-day purchasing activities with precision and attention to detail.
Supporting supplier issue resolution, managing quotes, and ensuring smooth supply chain interactions.
Contributing to resource and procurement projects by gathering data, obtaining quotations, and presenting findings.
Leading elements of procurement projects with confidence and clear communication.
Working closely with a Buyer, two Associate Procurement Professionals, and cross-functional teams including administration.
What We're Looking For
Top Skills & Experience:
3+ years' experience as an Assistant Buyer (manufacturing sector preferred but not essential).
Strong data-driven mindset - able to collect, analyse, and act on procurement data.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause identification.
Solid project management capability from initiation to delivery.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate.
Systems Experience:
Microsoft Office
ERP systems (preferably SAP)
Teamcenter
Qualifications:
Degree not essential.
Purchasing qualifications such as CIPS are desirable.
