The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Procurement Professional to join our Engineering Supply Chain team. This role will involve collaborating closely with our engineering teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring that procurement activities align with project requirements. You'll play a key role in managing procurement activity, working with internal partners to ensure seamless delivery, timely payments to suppliers, and compliance with all procurement processes.
You will report to the Process & Services Manager and be part of a dedicated group focused on driving continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process requisitions and support purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost analysis, and contract/order generation.
- Perform analysis and maintenance of assigned processes, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist internal customers and support proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
- Coordinate and report on procurement activities supporting R&D or capital projects.
- Research and assess potential suppliers, recommending the best options for timely project delivery.
- Represent the Prototype Procurement team in meetings with internal customers and suppliers, ensuring smooth project progress and issue resolution.
- Address supplier grievances and payment issues to ensure smooth purchase order processing.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Customer-focused with great attention to detail and a disciplined approach to work.
- High level of accuracy and self-checking strategies to maintain work quality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with MRP systems.
- Good understanding of industry purchasing practices and B2B environments.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to identify and resolve organizational problems.
- Previous experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain role.
Desired (not essential):
- CIPS Qualification.
