Project Manager - Global Programme Team
📍 Peterborough (site-based)
⏳ 12-month contract (likely to extend)
💰 Up to £40.72 per hour (depending on experience)
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a dynamic Global Programme Management team supporting a wide portfolio of projects across a large, complex organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure across multiple business areas while working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
You'll play a key role in driving projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation through to delivery
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Monitor progress, performance, risks, and budgets across a portfolio of projects
- Produce regular, high-quality reports for senior stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure clear communication throughout
- Maintain risk registers, action logs, and project documentation
- Support resource planning and allocation across projects
- Identify issues and recommend effective solutions
- Facilitate meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration
- Mentor and support other project contributors where required
About You
You'll be a confident and proactive Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
Essential:
- 3+ years' experience in project management
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project and the MS Office suite (especially Excel)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience influencing and leading teams indirectly
Desirable:
- PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent certification
- Experience in resource and cost management across project portfolios
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, complex formulas)
Working Arrangements
- Fully site-based in Peterborough
- Working hours:
- Mon-Thurs: 08:30 - 16:45
- Fri: 08:30 - 16:15
- Occasional travel to UK, European, and potentially international sites
